Friday, April 22 is Earth Day and Timmins Transit is celebrating with free bus rides in the City of Timmins.
This year’s theme for Earth Day is Invest in Our Planet with a rally cry to all Canadians to work together for change. The call for climate action is not a new one. The benefits of choosing public transportation over a private vehicle are well known. On-road transportation in Timmins is responsible for 37.7% of the City’s greenhouse gas emissions as identified in the City’s 2019 Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan.
