Ontario Renews NORDS Funding for Timmins
The Government of Ontario has renewed Northern Ontario Resource Development Support (NORDS) funding for an additional three years, providing the City of Timmins with $400,000 annually to support key infrastructure priorities in the community.

NORDS funding helps municipalities across Northern Ontario invest in infrastructure that is impacted by resource development, while also supporting broader economic development initiatives.

“The renewal of this funding is important for our community,” says Mayor Michelle Boileau. “Resource development, like mining, drives our local and provincial economy forward, but it also places pressure on our infrastructure. The province’s investment recognizes that infrastructure is a shared asset and allows us to plan and invest strategically to support residents, industry, and future growth.”

The City of Timmins remains committed to working with provincial partners to ensure these investments deliver long-term benefits for the community.
