Purpose of the Session:
The City of Timmins invites residents and stakeholders to attend a Public Information Session regarding the proposed Melrose Heights Subdivision. This session will provide details on the development plan, infrastructure improvements, project timelines, and will allow the public to ask questions and provide feedback.
Project Overview:
- Subdivision Details:
- Development on city-owned land
- 240 residential or multi-residential lots in a two-phase approach
- Infrastructure Improvements:
- Approximately 2,100 metres of new water, storm, and sanitary mains
- Storm water management, drainage improvements, sanitary sewer design, water modelling and preventative maintenance plans
- New third party utilities (Hydro, Enbridge Gas, Etc.)
- Roadway & Utilities:
- Local-residential classification
- Preapproved under Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
- Streetlights, asphalt pavement, curbs, and sidewalks
- Traffic calming measures
- Infrastructure Studies:
- Transportation Master Plan (2024) confirms traffic capacity and intersection modifications
- Infrastructure Needs Study (2025) confirmed water and sanitary capacity
