Two days. Together. Let's clean up our community.
Gather your friends, family, neighbours, and colleagues and help clean up litter in our parks, trails, boulevards, and other public spaces.
Adopt-a-Block is a community cleanup strategy that helps tackle the waste revealed when the winter snow melts. It takes a full community effort to pick up litter and reduce waste. It can be overwhelming - so that's why we're tackling it one block at a time.
Residents, local businesses, and schools will be encouraged to adopt-a-block of space around their neighbourhood, playground, and parks to clean up during the City's Community Cleanup Days on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24, 2025. Save the dates!
Registration begins May 1, 2025. Teams will be asked to select their preferred pick-up location for clean up kits (gloves and garbage bags) using the provided registration sheet. An email will be sent to all registered teams during the week of May 19, 2025 with final details and confirmation.
How it works:
1) REGISTER your clean up team between May 1 and May 9, 2025. We will add our online registration form before May 1.
3) Get cleaning. Our Community Cleanup Days are Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24 before 3:00 p.m.
4) Leave your collected litter in your designated drop-off location before 3:00 p.m. You will be assigned a drop-off location near where you're cleaning. Public Works will collect your waste and dispose of it for you.
5) Share a photo of your cleanup in progress using hashtag #adoptablocktimmins
