Temporary Structures

All temporary structures, including a winter car shelter, require a permit. Approved seasonal structures can be put up between October 1 - April 30.

Please submit your application, site plan, and payment to Service Timmins, located on the main floor of City Hall.

Seasonal Structure Permit: $15.00

Yearly Structure Permit: $25.00

Small Structures

If a shed is less than 161 sq. ft., obtaining a building permit is not required; however, it does require a Small Accessory Structure Permit approval under the by-law.

Temporary Patio Extensions

Businesses looking to put up a temporary patio extension for the summer are required to complete and submit a Request for Temporary Patio Extension Form. Approval is required from the City of Timmins for all businesses serving food and/or beverages on a temporary patio.

There will be no charge for this permit. Complete the Request for Temporary Patio Extension Form and email it to [email protected]. Response is provided within five (5) business days.

Update from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) approval process for 2023.
