Pollinator Photo Contest (Winner Announced)
Congratulations to Melanie Palik for taking home the top prize in our Bee City Timmins Pollinator Photo Contest.
Her stunning shot of a moth reminds us that bees aren’t the only busy pollinators out there. From bees to butterflies to moths and beyond, pollinators keep our world blooming.
Thanks to everyone who entered and helped us celebrate the beauty and importance of pollinators in our community.
Start the Buzz 2025 Pollinator Garden Challenge
Studies have shown that our native pollinators are disappearing at an unprecedented rate. You can "Start the Buzz" and help these essential creatures by creating a pollinator habitat in your own backyard, school, or balcony! See what simple additions you can make to your outdoor space and create a prize-winning habitat!
Everyone in Timmins is welcome to participate: residents, schools, churches, businesses, and farms. By planting pollinator-friendly plants, your yard will be buzzing with natural beauty for years to come.
Three Categories:
* Children's Garden (under 18)
* Adult Garden (18 and up)
* Business, organization, institution
A pollinator prize valued at $200 will be awarded in each category.
How to Enter:
Take a picture of your garden or container by August 31, 2025 and email your images to [email protected]. Entries must include your full name, mailing address, phone number, and a brief description of the photos. Old and new gardens can enter. Winners will be chosen and contacted on September
Start the Buzz 2025 Pollinator Garden Challenge is made possible with support from Discovery Porcupine, Lakeshore Gold - a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, Kidd Operations - A Glencore Company, and Wintergreen Fund for Conservation.
*No purchase necessary. Contest opens 8:30am EDT on June 21, 2025 and closes at 4:30pm on August 31, 2025. Open to legal residents of Timmins, Ontario. Limit one (1) entry per person. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by deadline. Total retail value of all prizes is $600 CAD.
