The City offers swimming lessons from the Lifesaving Society: Swim for Life program (effective January 2023). The program accommodates learners from age 4 months to 100+ years. Seasonal program information can be obtained from our website at http://www.timmins.ca/residents/recreation-services/schedules-and-programs. Swimming lessons are booked seasonally through Service Timmins, either in-person or by phone. Registration dates are announced on our City News page or official social media pages.
We are currently transitioning our swimming lesson programming from the Canadian Red Cross to the Lifesaving Society: Swim for Life program (effective January 2023). The levels in the new program may require different skills and be structured differently than families are used to. You can use the below chart to compare Red Cross to Swim for Life program levels. We also provide a level description in the links below.
Parents and guardians can also book a free swim assessment to see what level would be best suited for their child by calling the Archie Dillon Sportsplex Pool at 705-360-2655.
