We are always looking for volunteers to join our team! Volunteers enhance the Golden Manor community and support resident quality of life through engagement and building relationships. Volunteers augment and complement services provided by staff through the following potential roles:
- Assisting with special events or larger activities for residents (i.e. Christmas dinner, BBQ's, Bingo)
- Assisting our recreation department with daily resident activities
- Facilitating activities with one resident or a small group of residents (i.e. outdoor walks, reading, friendly visits, gardening)
- Facilitating activities for a group of residents in conjunction with the recreation department (i.e. music, cooking, crafting)
- Portering / assisting residents to activities
- Tuck Shop attendant
- Pastoral care services
Requirements:
- Maintain a consistent schedule
- As a volunteer, we ask you to make a six-month commitment to the program — but you are welcome to volunteer for as long as you like after that, especially if you have developed special friendships with our residents.
- We ask that volunteers make a minimum commitment of 60 hours and maintain a consistent schedule (at least 10 hours of volunteer service per month).
- Criminal Record Check
- Volunteers aged 18 and older are required to provide an up-to-date Vulnerable Sector check.
- Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to provide an up-to-date Criminal Record Check.

- Volunteers under the age of 16 must have a parent/guardian complete the consent for youth volunteers (link).
- All volunteers must be in compliance with the Golden Manor’s Infection Control Policies.

Regular Volunteer Program
The Golden Manor has many volunteer opportunities for those looking to stay active in their community. We are always looking for motivated and compassionate individuals who are willing to share their gifts, talents, and time with residents. Events and activities occur throughout the week and weekend. You'll be well-supported by Golden Manor staff and welcomed by our Residents!

Student Volunteer Program
Students aged 14 and up are encouraged to volunteer at the Golden Manor to complete your high school community hours. Events and activities happen after school, or on evenings and weekends. It's interesting, rewarding and fun volunteer work, with many programs geared towards students. You'll be well-supported by Golden Manor staff and welcomed by residents!
If you have time to give, your contribution to the Golden Manor is greatly appreciated. You might even find career ideas!
We ask that volunteers make a minimum commitment of 60 hours and maintain a consistent schedule (at least 10 hours of volunteer service per month). Enrollment in an educational institution (secondary or post-secondary) is required for this program.
