Bio:

I live in Ward 5 with my two daughters, Keenyah and Nylah.

In 2001, I graduated from Chapleau High School and set my sights on Timmins for my post-secondary studies, where I earned a dual diploma in Social Service Work and Drug and Alcohol Counselling from Northern College. In 2012, I was one of 25 women selected from across Canada to participate in a Leadership Program at St. Francis Xavier University. This program paved the way for my entry into politics. In 2022, I graduated from Laurentian University with a BA in Equity, Diversity, and Human Rights.

Aside from my educational background, I have a passion for contributing to our community. If you have noticed the beautiful Indigenous murals that exist throughout the City of Timmins, that project was completed through an Ontario Arts Council grant that I applied for and the murals were completed by Northern Ontario artists and local Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth.

I have a deep understanding of northern communities and have dedicated my 19-year career to the City of Timmins’ non-profit sector. My contributions have led to the development and support of numerous social planning programs, art endeavours and successful community initiatives. I am a registered member of Chapleau Cree First Nation and am a descendant to a signatory of Treaty 9. As an avid nature lover and promoter of all things Northern Ontario, my favourite thing about Timmins is spending time in our community’s outdoor spaces.
